International solidarity on the rise!
The ongoing revolution of Nepal is part of the world revolution
and deserves support from all the revolutionary forces of the world.
There is no such a smooth and straight road for the revolution and
it always passes through twists and turns. Every revolution taking
place in the 21st Century will definitely feel lacking of international
support and assistance from socialist camp or socialist countries.
In such a situation making revolution is all the more difficult
and uphill task but not an impossible task. To make it really possible
it is essential for the communist revolutionaries of the world to
create various instruments at the world level for the sake of garnering
widest support for the revolution as much as it is achievable. There
can not be any difference in opinion on seeking widest international
support but to achieve it practically is a challenging task.
Nepal is surrounded by India in South, West and
East and has an open border of about 1800 kms. There are many unequal
treatises in between Nepal and India which squeezes Nepal to become
a semi-colonial country. India by virtue of its class nature has
always supported the reactionary ruling classes and governments
of Nepal in the face of revolutionary movements carried out by the
revolutionary forces and the people of Nepal against the regimes.
Regarding our Southern neighbor we have another bright aspect. There
are revolutionary forces in India, who are constantly carrying out
struggles since many years. According to the latest report, government
of India has realized that the Maoists are the “potential threat
to the security of India”. It means that Maoists of India are the
real challenge for the Indian state. In many different ways Indian
state is a big and powerful state. When the same Indian state realizes
that it is being challenged by the Maoists, the strength of the
Maoist revolutionaries is obvious. Apart from the Maoists there
are also many leftist, progressive and democratic forces in India
who are basically and largely revolutionary. All these revolutionary
forces of India are our friends and they have supported us when
we were in difficult times and we believe they will continue their
support in the future for the advancement of the revolutionary movement
in Nepal.
We were garnering support from the revolutionary
forces and revolutionary people of India and hope so in the future.
But we always felt that this support and assistance should be streamlined.
It is more effective when carried out in organized way. In the past
there was “Solidarity forum to support the revolution in Nepal”
which was Delhi based. Now there are many more organizations coming
forward for support and assistance. Therefore support organization
at the all India level has now become a reality. Almost 25 left
and progressive organizations and well known left intellectuals,
writers, journalists etc had a historic gathering in mid-November,
which decided to form ‘Indo-Nepal People’s Solidarity Forum’. In
its first plenary meeting held in the Indian capital on December
9, adopted the concept paper of the forum and also decided to organize
press conference in various cities of India and the capital of Nepal.
The press conference held in Kathmandu gave a strong message to
the people of Nepal that they are not alone in the revolutionary
movement which they have been carrying forward against the domestic
and the foreign reactionaries as well. This news was carried out
in many leading news papers in the capital of Nepal. Similar press
meeting was held in Delhi in which it was reported that around 15
journalists of different media groups were present. But none of
them published it as news. It shows how the Indian media is controlled
by handful of big houses. Nevertheless, it is a very significant
achievement to constantly acquiring support for the revolution of
Nepal (please read other pages for the detail report of the Solidarity
Forum).
France-Nepal People’s Solidarity Forum has been formed in Paris
in the last November. We hope such forums may be formed in many
different parts of the world in the future, which will link up the
Nepalese revolution with the world revolution.
